Texas Early voting Day 1
Day 1 of early voting for Election 2020 kicked off to a very brisk start yesterday in Texas. The Department of Texas Secretary of State reported 456,149 in person votes across the state by close of business. There may also be upward of 100,000 votes not yet fed into the Department’s website as of yet, so expect voter data updates during the day.
Many liberal media outlets are reporting 1 million votes on Day 1. This does not tally with processed votes for October 13th on the Texas Secretary of State website.
Texas is also reporting that 306,411 people have returned mail-in ballots to state officials as of close of business yesterday October 13th 2020. This brings a total of 762,560 vote completed in Texas or 4.5% of the total registered voters in the State.
Texas has registered over 1.8 million new voters since the 2016 Presidential election bring the Statewide total of registered voters to 16.9 million. Many urban districts are reporting close to 100% levels of voters registration.
Media reports yesterday had Harris county reporting at 120,000 voters, yet the Texas secretary of State is reporting that county at 63,652 for yesterday. If true, we would expect tomorrow’s early vote figures to reflect that reality.
Texas Early voting continues until October 30th 2020.
New Jersey – October 14th 2020
Democrats hold a 1.1 million edge in voter registration over the Republicans in 2020. This is up slightly from November 2016. 12% of eligible voters have already returned their mail-in ballot. One third of the electorate are registered as Independent in the state of New Jersey. Low mail-in return rate of Independents indicates they will play a decisive role on election day.

President Trump won 41% of the vote in this State in 2016. It will be an early bell-weather to see if he improves his performance in NJ in 2020. The coronavirus has hit this state harder than any other in the US per head of population. Early voting numbers indicate there will be a record breaking turnout in NJ this year.

October 13th 2020
11.9 million votes have already been cast in the U.S. Presidential election –
This counts:
1. Returned mail-in Ballots
2. States with early voting.
5.3 million mail-in votes have been cast and returned in States that also capture party affiliation when voting. See below.
