The Deplorable Diaries: ‘ How I Spend my Money ” – Cheryl & Monroe

I am delighted to publish the first in our series of Interviews with ‘Deplorables’ from around the United States. No single group are more overwhelmingly misrepresented in modern mainstream media. For one, how diverse the range of people that are in the movement, is never quite accurately captured. Hopefully this series of pieces will help give a little more depth and insight.

We live in a greatly uncertain world at the moment and I thought an interesting way to look at the economics of the day would be to ask a very simple question.

How do the Deplorables spend their money?

Of course, the irony in the use of the term deplorable, as a descriptor of these people, is that the vast, vast majority of the deplorables are anything but deplorable. That they wear the Hillary Clinton created term as a badge of honour speaks to their sense of good humour and intelligence as much as it speaks to anything else.

I have come up with an initial dozen or so questions and as we move through the election campaign I will adjust as appropriate. If you think of a question we haven’t asked just drop us a message through the e-mail sign up at the end of the article. Indeed if you would like to participate – do the same – all we need is an e-mail.

Today, we start with two female patriots Cheryl and Monroe. Interestingly, both were former Democrats. But how about we let them fill you in themselves.

Monroe Dugdale:

1.  Name & Location:

My name is Monroe Dugdale from Atlanta, Georgia

2. Why do you consider yourself a deplorable?

Well, I never considered myself a Deplorable until Hillary Clinton called me one. I am now a proud Conservative who supports Donald Trump. I left the Democratic Party in 1990.

3. What is your occupation and income?

I am a freelance writer and a specialty researcher. As you know,  my income varies each year depending how much I publish or the number of my clients. I will add that I do “not” depend on any income from professionally publishing for my expenses. I do have that luxury which many in this profession do not have unfortunately.

4. How do you spend your money?

I am very conservative on spending. If I expect it from our government, I feel I should practice restraint in personal spending. I do travel. I love cities such as London, NYC, Charleston. I spend a lot of time on St. Simon’s Island. I do spend/invest in real estate and I am forever purchasing a new book.

5. Whats your guilty pleasure in terms of an item you spend money on?

This is so funny but I am a female (after all), so shoes!  Then time at the  beach, a good book and sunshine. At times though, real estate is a guilty pleasure purchase.

6. Are you a gun owner and if so what type of guns do you have?

I am a gun owner. I have both handguns and rifles. I’m sure I spend less than $250 per year on ammo. I do not stay on the range but do practice to continue my marksmanship.

7. What’s is the number 1 election issue for you?

The number one issue for me (and should be for everyone) is the economy. Our economy encompasses so very much. I am of the belief that America is only as strong as our current economy at any given time.

8. How has the coronavirus pandemic effected your income?

I am truly blessed because COVID-19 has not effected my work or my income. I have worked from my home office for years.

9. What are your views on protests, riots and looting that have gone on for the past month?

I view them as unlawful and unnecessary. I have seen nothing about the recent protest that signals peacefulness. In fact, today’s protest are yesterday’s riots. Peaceful protests are a long ago social changer. Change occurs at the ballot box not in the streets. I believe these protests and riots have given opportunity to many people who just want to commit crimes, i.e. looting, arson, assaults and so many other painful crimes to our society.

10. Which of the tech companies poses the greatest risk to the future and why?

The trending troubles of both Twitter and Facebook lead me to believe these companies will suffer the most in the future. Both have shown they are not friendly to conservatives. I feel Google can bounce back time and time again.

11. What specific economic problem do you think poses the greatest risk to your town.

Atlanta:  I stand firm that economic crisis’ leads to more homeless of countless Americans. As we are witnessing, COVID-19 is creating a entirely new and unexpected group of homeless individuals not just in Atlanta but across our nation.

12. Any thing else you would like to say but I haven’t asked!!!

I am so excited to read your finished product. You have provided excellent questions, Gerry. I could write a book answering for you but time restraints this morning won’t allow. I know you are grateful when one sticks to the subject with brief comments.

13. Who is your Favorite Conservative?

I am a huge fan of Trey Gowdy. I understood his move from the public arena; However, Trey is extraordinarily not only in Congress but in Criminal Law. He is an incredibly interesting person. Trey is a born teacher and orator.

14. What one piece of advise would you give President Trump:

Be very careful with words. The MSM has no sense of humor and they are waiting to pummel on most words from President Trump. I would strongly suggest for him to always proceed with caution in speaking.

Cheryl:

1. Name and location?

Cheryl.   I live in West Virginia

2. Why do you consider yourself a deplorable?

Because I switched parties from Democrat to Republican, so I could vote for Trump in the primaries. I always & still do believe a business person would be better as a President for America.

3. What is your occupation and income?

I work in the Family business which is Construction. My income varies !

4. How do you spend your money?

I spend on groceries, also the Pet store for my Great Dane, clothing when needed. I am not a big spender on myself. I donated to the Trump Campaign & I am still doing that.

I donate to our local food bank & local dog shelter too.

5. Whats your guilty pleasure in terms of an item you spend money on?

None

6. Are you a gun owner and if so what type of guns do you have?

Yes! I own a Glock, an AR15

7. What’s is the number 1 election issue for you?

Get these far-left radicals out of our government & out of our country. If people want to live in a 3rd world shit-hole there are many countries they can go to.

8. How has the coronavirus pandemic effected your income?

Not at all

9. What are your views on protests, riots and looting that have gone on for the past month?

I’m all for peaceful protest. However, riots, looters & destruction of property – those people have no right to do that & should be jailed with no bail. I blame the liberal mayors, Governors & Democrat’s that do nothing about it & cheer them on, it’s disgusting .

It only hurts the lower-income families, & a lot of black communities they claim to want to help.
10. Which of the tech companies poses the greatest risk to the future and why?

All. They side with far left ideology & are shutting down all other people’s opinions & freedom of speech.

11. What specific economic problem do you think poses the greatest risk to your town.

Jobs

12. Any thing else you would like to say but I haven’t asked!!!

Vote out liberal’s & Rhino’s that say they’re conservatives if people want to keep their freedoms. Vote Red in November.
